Beginner Upcycling Course

Never or barely touched a sewing machine yet? And are you interested creating items from upcycled materials or altering your clothes into a different style? Sign up for our 4-lesson Beginner Upcycling Course in our Sewing Café! And… you can start the course whenever you’d like!

In this course you will learn all the basics you need to know on the sewing machine and work on upcycled pieces at the same time. In this course it’s possible to learn to make +/- 2 items or upcycle them. It is possible to choose between te following projects:

Upcycling projects to choose from:
> Jeans Hobo Bag (approximately 3 hours)
> Upcycle top (approximately 4 hours)
> Upcycle sleeve skirt (approximately 3 hours)
> Upcycling technique: adding shirring to a shirt or t-shirt (approximately 2 hours)
> Upcycling technique: adding tunneling to a shirt or skirt (approximately 2 hours)
> Upcycling technique: jeans side panel (approximately 3 hours)
Our advise is to choose two projects max. at first! (if there is enough time left, you can do more of course)

Follow this 4-lesson course on a moment of your choice, depending on the opening hours of the Sewing Café. The course is 2 hours per lesson. Guidance is provided by professional fashion designers. Classes are both in Dutch and English. You can start in the week of your wishes.**

You can choose to have the materials in- or excluded in this course. For the ‘upcycling technique projects’ you will need to bring your own (T-)shirt, skirt or jeans, so we can apply the techniques on your own items (or search for nice items in a second hand store).

How to book:
Choose your starting date in the schedule above and book the course. After this, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a code that you can use to book your second, third and fourth class.

*We are not responsible for finishing the pieces in time. We aim for you to finish it in those 4 lessons, but if you have particular wishes that are slowing the process, it can happen that you don’t finish in time. If it is not finished and you need extra help, you are of course welcome at our normal sewing lessons to finish it. Please note that the 4 lessons entail enough time to finish two pieces/techniques of your choice.

***Are you not able to come to one of your scheduled lessons? No problem, we can reschedule. Just remember: always cancel in time! Meaning: the latest 1 day before your lesson starts. If yo are too late with your cancellation, you will miss that one lesson!
